Rusty Slider is an undeniably beautified version of the already very cool Harley XR 1200. The customization was carried through by Winston Yeh of Rough Crafts, together with the owners of Provider Production and Taki Design. The tree had a slightly damaged 2010 XR 1200 bike to work with, after its owner (who is also the owner of Dickies Taiwan) had crashed it.

Winston Yeh has a soft spot for the XR 750 racer, so he decided to draw inspiration from that and then tweak things to obtain a brand new street tracker. To accentuate the vintage feel of the bike, the team used black titanium-coated forks and a swingarm from an in-house ‘Hooligan Tactics’ Harley Forty-Eight.

At the back they mounted a set of Progressive 970 Series shocks, and they changed the braking system with Performance machine calipers and Lyndall Racing composite rotors. Also from the Hooligan Tactics bike, Winston borrowed a prototype tail.

The customization also included a Sportster tank, new hand and foot controls, a unique Supertrapp exhaust system, and a number of Rough Crafts pieces like the clutch cover, handlebars, filler cap, lighting, grips and risers. The engine is no longer fuel injected, as the team swapped the original EFI system with Mikuni HSR42 carburetors.

Finally, the paint job was carefully executed to further enhance the vintage feel, with rusted effects intentionally placed in strategic points. The final result is absolutely gorgeous and inspirational for any motorcycle enthusiast.
